Our promise

We cut out rust.
We fabricate metal.
We weld.
We restore.

Most shops in the GTA cover rust with body filler and paint. It looks good for a summer, then it fails — and by then, the corrosion has eaten twice as deep. That's not what we do. Every repair at Islas Restoration is metal-first: rot gets cut out, fresh steel gets fabricated and welded in, seams get sealed, cavities get waxed. Done once. Done right.

  • No bondo over rust
  • No cheap cosmetic patches
  • No shortcuts on structural repairs
  • No hidden work — you see every photo

Our process

How proper rust repair actually happens.

Every job — from a rocker panel to a full truck bed rebuild — follows the same four steps. No skipping. No shortcuts.

  1. 01

    Inspect & quote

Bring the vehicle in. We inspect the vehicle fully, then show you photos of what needs to go and what doesn't.

  2. 02

    Cut & remove

All corroded metal is cut out cleanly — back to solid steel. Nothing gets buried under bondo.

  3. 03

    Fabricate & weld

New panels are hand-shaped, MIG-welded in, ground flush, and protected with weld-through primer.

  4. 04

    Seal & refinish

Cavity wax, epoxy primer, base and clear. Finished so it looks — and lasts — like factory.

Our approach

The difference between covering rust and removing it.

This is what real rust repair looks like mid-job: corrosion cut back to clean metal, a fabricated steel patch welded into place, seams prepped for sealing and refinish. No filler over rot — just metal.

Customer stories

Trusted across the GTA.

"Rocker panels on my F-150 were done properly — new metal welded in, not covered up. Two winters later, still solid."
Marcus D. · Markham, ON
"Every other shop wanted to spray bondo over the cab corners. Islas rebuilt them with real steel. Night and day."
Priya S. · Richmond Hill, ON
"Honest quote, honest work. Showed me exactly what was rotted and exactly what they fabricated. Craftsmanship you can see."
Kevin L. · Scarborough, ON

See all FAQs
Do you actually cut out the rust, or just cover it?
We cut it out. Every time. Rust that's been ground down or filled with bondo will always come back — usually within a winter. We remove all corroded metal back to solid steel and weld in fabricated patches.
How much does rust repair cost in Ontario?
Small pinhole rust can start around $400–$800 per area. Structural repairs like rocker panels, cab corners, and frame rails run higher because they involve fabrication and welding. Every estimate is photo-documented — no guesswork.
Will my rust repair pass Ontario safety inspection?
Yes. Our structural repairs — rocker panels, jack points, frame rails, floor pans — are done to pass Ontario Motor Vehicle Inspection Standards. We can also perform pre-purchase inspections.
